Taking inspiration from the 90s, athleisure wear is the off-duty trend we can’t resist. Think casual comfort like joggers, hoodies, trainers and caps in a style that’s relaxed enough for days in on the couch, yet strike the perfect balance of casual for weekend brunch. From track star to style icon, get the look with colourful pieces, like these navy and white knit Michel trainers from M Moustache and this organic cotton, dark forest hoodie from Spanish label Neutrale. Or pick something like this varsity-style ecru jumper in British tailoring from Hemingsworth.

Style tip: These tie-dye navy shorts from London-based label BHODE are the perfect combination of style and comfort.

All Over Neutrals

Take tonal dressing one step further with all over neutrals. When it comes to dressing, pick beige, cream, brown and white in classic cuts and styles. An easy and effortless look to achieve, this aesthetic will never go out of style and it’s essential for your daily rotation. For pieces that last, go for organic and natural materials like cotton, linen and wool – London-based brand Riley Studio are the perfect example of this. For light outerwear, the Edmmond Studios thermo sealed cotton coat in beige is an ideal transitional piece, taking you from Spring to Autumn with an added inner vest.

Style tip: Go one step further with the Dust G3 Sneakers from Lisbon craftsmanship brand JAK.

The Dandy Look

A swift contrast from the comfort-based outfits we spent 2021 one, the Dandy style has existed for centuries, but 2022 will see its rise. All about smart tailoring and sharp silhouettes with premium, luxe fabrics like silk, linen and tweed. Get the look with button-downs, waistcoats, tailored trousers and blazers in classic patterns like gingham, check, stripe, houndstooth and plaid. When it comes to mixing patterns, approach with caution – opt for patterns in similar colours and blend them. This blazer from British sartorial label New & Lingwood is the ultimate staple in timeless tweed, while Café Leather’s Triton leather driving gloves are ideal for adding a little oomph to a cold day look.

Style tip: William Wood’s premium recycled watches are the perfect accessory and finishing touch for this style.

Purple and Cornflower Blue Accents

Add a pop of colour and a dash of character to your wardrobe with the trendiest colours, taking the runways and interior world by storm. An intense, yet pale tone, Cornflower blue evokes the perfect combination of calm and confidence. Pair this seamless puffed round neck sweater from Italian connoisseurs of quality SCAGLIONE with these charcoal textured, tailored wool trousers from Simpli for an unequivocally contemporary look. Or if you’re looking for something a little softer, Pantone’s colour of the year 2022 Very Peri is the perfect hue. Take this purple rib beanie from BHODE as the ideal addition to your winter wardrobe.

Style tip: Pair your purple and cornflower blue accents with basic neutrals like black and white for a seamless look that’ll help keep your wardrobe ageless.

The Oversized Look

The oversized style has been part of our wardrobes for some time now, and it’s clear that this trend is not going away any time soon. 2022 sees the oversized look going full steam ahead with shirts, shorts, jumpers and suits being added to the roster – proving this trend is here to stay. Cut from fine Italian fabric, this indigo corduroy shirt from French brand Delikatessen is the ultimate forever piece. While these oversized organic cotton shorts from design label Brava Fabrics guarantee pure comfort and breathability for days in the sun.

Style tip: Make the most out of this trend and switch up your outfits by combining oversized cuts with tailored and fitted pieces. Or for the ultimate relaxed look, go oversized from head to... ankle.

Comfort Layering

It’s all about comfort with this trend and there’s nothing more comfortable than layering up. Go for a mix of cosy materials like cotton, wool and cashmere in timeless pieces that you’ll love wearing. When picking pieces, go for colours and styles that’ll effortlessly complement your existing wardrobe. Vests are going to continue to be a huge feature in our wardrobes and this one from Artknit in pearl Merino wool is our personal favourite. Whereas this recycled cashmere cardigan from Riley Studio can be worn with everything – it’s great for layering too.

Style tip: This petrol fleece jacket from Barcelona-based Brava Fabrics is ideal for wearing as a light outer layer in warmer weather and as an underlayer on cooler days.

When incorporating trendy pieces into your wardrobe, take a moment to consider what already lives inside it. What trend will you be donning?
