What we think

We can't help but be inspired by Billy Tannery's unfaltering integrity and drive. Aware that the use of goat's hide in artisanal leather craft is heavily in decline, the brand's co-founders set out to combat the statistics and reintroduce kid's leather as the luxurious, versatile natural good that it is. A passion project well accomplished.

A TALE WORTH TELLING

Their story

Born from the discovery that only few tanneries in Europe - and none in the UK - were willing or able to tan goat hides, Billy Tannery was created to change the narrative defining goat's leather and respectfully, bring it back to the ateliers. Fuelled by a respect for the natural environment and the generational trade of leather-making, partners Jack Millington and Rory Harker set out on their mission to "promote the goat," turning waste into worth while doing so.

QUALITY IN THE MAKING

The process

Working closely with a selection of farmers and chefs, Billy Tannery prides itself on re-educating its partners, and tackling waste by turning it into highly valued worth. The tannery only uses goat hides as a by-product of the dairy and meat industries, and tans its leathers eco-responsibly to create a beautifully conscious collection of shoes, bags and small accessories.
